Dermatologic Treatments That Require Extra Care During Summer

Temperatures are rising and the summer season is coming up.  We all want our skin to look its best during this season of tank tops and shorts. But did you know that there are treatments that are require more effort on your part when it comes to post-procedure care and avoiding the sun? We can get our botulinum toxin and filler injections hydrafacials, and energy-based device sessions but be extra careful when it comes to the following treatments:

Chemical Peel

A chemical peel removes the topmost layer of the skin and makes it  more sensitive to the rays of the sun which can lead to  more pigmentation and darkening

Laser Hair Removal

Getting a tan can deposit pigment into the more superficial layers of the skin and can lead to burning during laser hair removal

Wart Removal

Sun exposure before or after wart removal can alter the healing process and  can result to patchy skin with light or dark spots

Laser Resurfacing Treatment

Just like chemical peels sloughs off the upper layers of the skin to reveal the new skin underneath. This skin needs time to heal and when exposed to the sun it reacts by producing more discoloration.

To know more about other treatments you need to avoid during summer, come and see a board-certified dermatologist at any of our HOO Dermatology branches. Contact the HOO Factor hotline 0917 576-2326 or send us a message to book an appointment.
